13 Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward-to Jesus. 14 I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.Philippians 3:13-14 (MSG)
What controlled you yesterday will affect you today. Are you off and running trace God has set before you for this day? Are your plans His plans for your life today? The word of God says in Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV) 9 A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps. There are times things happen in which you have no control; it seems all wrong, and at the time there’s no hope. But with God, all things can be turned around for His glory when we choose to allow His plan to take place.
Romans 8:28 (NKJV) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. There are times in life, God’s purpose and my plan collide. This is when we have to go back to the altar of God and find what He had in mind from the beginning. Not to say all my plans are bad, in fact, they can be really good plans just not what the heart of God had in mind for me at the time.
Have you settled for good or great? God’s word says if you want to be great in God’s Kingdom, learn to be servant of all. Service in God’s Kingdom is one of the most rewarding things a child of God can do. Many think service has to do with a platform or a large ministry. God says when we have done this to the least of these, we have done it unto Him. God is calling you to run with Him, to live like Him, to love like Him, to follow His steps.
Moving forward in faith takes love, empowerment and forgiveness. Running the race means looking forward in faith with love, believing I can reach the goal set before me. Live everyday empowered by God in a greater measure than in myself. Creflo Dollar says “if you can do it on your own you don’t need God”. When something is bigger than you, then only God can do it for or through you. Any hurdle which comes will be dealt with through forgiveness as the weapon of warfare.
The test is not how strong you are or even where you finish the race. The question is will your faith last until the end? Are you running the race with God or is the race running you? NO matter the cost will we continue to run, and NOT turn back?
